COSATU Statement on the NDPP judgement
The Congress of South African Trade Unions has noted the North Gauteng High Court's judgment regarding the appointment of the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP). While we understand that the parties involved reserve the right to appeal the ruling, we do however support the removal of Mr Shaun Abrahams as the NDPP.
He is a liability rather than an asset, especially in the fight against State Capture and the cancer of corruption. South Africa is mired in a cesspool of corruption with both the public and private sector running amok and the country disintegrating at an alarming rate. Mr Abrahams's only pprimary achievement has been to give considerable comfort to crooks, swindlers and architects of our economic decay.
We need a solid and reliable National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), who is going to swing a big axe and launch a crackdown against corruption and make sure that all those who are stealing from the poor and destroying the economy get their comeuppance.
