NUM condemns Primrose Gold Mine Management

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) condemns with strongest possible terms the manner in which Primrose Gold Mine conducts itself. The mine management has left hundreds of workers stranded at the mine without December pay. Workers were promised to be paid on the 23 of December including the May monthly salary which was not paid then. “The management has left for holidays without paying workers their meager R1300 monthly pay so that they can travel to their respective homes to spend the festive season with their families”, says Scelo Gcabashe, NUM deputy secretary PWV region.

The NUM once again calls for the relevant mining authorities to revoke mining licences of the companies that violate the rights of workers and the laws of the republic.

“Primrose Gold Mine has always conducted its business in an inhumane manner, and this should come to an end with immediate effect,” says concludes Gcabashe.
